UConn Starts League Play with Two Wins

Saturday, March 20, 2004

UConn started it's PCLL schedule with victories vs. Boston University and the University of New Haven. The Huskies beat BU 9-5 at Nickerson Field, and dismantled a weak New Haven team 18-5 later that week. The CCSU game was postponed due to bad weather. Next Sunday the Huskies will face off against New Hampshire, a consistently strong PCLL program

A penalty-riddled second half ended Uconn's chance for a victory at the University of Pittsburgh. The Huskies came out with a strong showing in the first half, and played to a 4-4 half-time tie. The second half found Pitt taking advantage of Uconn's many man-down situations, and the Huskies inability to get a transition game going. Uconn starts league play this Friday vs. BU.
