UConn Lacrosse's annual alumni tradition continues this fall with the 2005-06 alumni game. The game will be held at depot field on Sunday October 23rd at 12pm (homecoming weekend). After the game a team cookout will be held. All lacrosse alumni (NCAA/PCLL/MDIA) are welcome and encouraged to attend. For more alumni information please see the alumni section. (Storrs, CT) Two players from the University of Connecticut Men's Lacrosse team were honored with All-Conference awards this past week. Senior Defenseman Amit Ghadiyali (Norwalk, CT) and Sophomore Midfielder Paul Prizio (Brookline, CT) were both awarded 2nd Team honors. Ghadiyali, a graduate of Brien McMahon, and transfer from Eastern Connecticut State has been the Huskies defensive backbone since last year. This is his second All-PCLL award. Prizio, a workhorse midfielder and the Huskies most consistent ground ball man led the team in several statistical categories, as well as reaching second place for the team record for goals in a year.

The Uconn Men's Lacrosse team recently announced it's captains for the 2005-2006 season. Senior Midfielder Jake Gerson (Charlotte, VT) will continue to lead the Huskies offense in his second year as captain, along side Midfielder Scott Apelgren (Simsbury, CT). Junior Goalie Chris Slater (Brookfield, CT) will help direct the Uconn defense.
After weeks of indoor practice Uconn's first time out on a field did not go as planned. The Huskies came out flat against SELC opponents losing three straight games to start off their 2005 campaign. The team looks to rebound in two weeks when they face off against nationally ranked #22 New Hampshire for their home opener at the Sherman Turf Complex.
